| We made it. Another year on the blue-green ball, around the glowing source of life.
I continue to be impacted by the speed of which these revolutions pass around the sun, but at least my trusty digital camera gives me some sense of security that I may be burning daylight, but the flash can freeze any certain moment of time into the pixels that dance across my screen.
Thank God for memory.
Well, as usual the photo-montage of our life is following this brief message. How amazing images are to communicate so much more than our words can cover. I'm very greatful for this platform to share my life, and for those that are regular attendees to my little web-real-estate. Take note, as picture posting is lots of fun for family and friends, I will be starting a xanga page dedicated to just that, photos. And my current blog will return once again to my ever-moody ramblings of life that most of you may only experience like walking through a puddle. Not to say you wouldn't care, just maybe not in the mood for my mood. Or whatever it takes to manage that mood. Like blogging.
So, without further adieu... I present to you the last 26 days of our simple life... hope you enjoy it. Enjoy the captions.
Colin as he was 26 days ago... alive, awake and well enthusiastic. Hardly difficult to enjoy.
Progressive strength in lifting his head up and looking about.
Opening gifts at Christmas.
Grandma & Grandpa's Snowsuit! Hope we see some snow!
Family Christmas.
Went home later to test-drive the penguin suit!
Myriah got to go snow-shoeing with our good friend Megan, who is now in Africa for Architecture. Go global baby!
Colin sporting his birthday attire at our friend Jim's Pizza Party!
Fast Action NINJAS!
Joe & Katie Coleman... these guys are great. Pastoring here in Eugene, two boys and one on the way.
Went bowling afterwards with the birthday crew. Colin didn't score as good as Daddy did!
Portland Crew drops in for a few giggles. Brandon and Ethan are by far the most entertaining to Colin. Where's the other wise man?
SNOW DAY FINALLY COMES! Mamma and Dude out for a spin in the new suit (thanks Gramma!)
Snow Angels.
Snow Slugs! :0)
The latest expressions. So many complexities here.
Now weighing in at a whopping 16 pounds 4 ounces... almost double birth-weight! Big BOY!
Colin and Mamma like playin with the camera...
Hard to get all three of us in there sometimes!
Strong enough to stand!
Cute enough to kill.
So that's the latest. Thanks for watching... tune in again next week! Watch for the new links to Colin's very own fan club! :0) Blessings everyone. Let's bring 2007 in with great heart, mind and spirit.

| Back from vacation... guess what.
I have been RAPED and PILLEDGED by a FLIPPIN' SQUIRREL!
And it still hasn't left the house... yet. I'm off to flip the refrigerator on its side.
%&$#$$# !!!
======== THIS JUST IN! =========
Almost 12 hours later, 3 other fellas and myself finally excise the little bas#@$d out from the back of the refrigerator! He scampers around with a little less wiggle room this time... finds his way deep into the layers of my Lazy Boy... we drag it up to the front door and wail on it like it's spring cleaning.
Nutzy scampers his way to freedom, unbruised, probably in shock... but hey, no pesticides involved. Laadeedaw!
Now, time to get the bleach fumes venting! 4 potential lethal diseases in each little dropping... scattered across my entire home. Even in the bed sheets. Goldilocks eat your heart out!
Documentary pending.

| So, my usual photo-album posting was soaked today by the hours of continuous rain we've received. Now, for all the Oregon natives, you're probably quietly apathetic at my soaked whining... but today, today friends I got soaked. To the bone. My Montana bones. Soaked cold to the core of my little heart. And here's my new look and feel for a reflection... for those of you who live vicariously.
It hasn't happend to this extreme yet, since I moved here... but tonight was the showdown. I didn't drive today, so I'm continually blessed to be able to fall upon Route #11 from Thurston to Eugene with Lane Transit... my happy little activism. I don't take it often, but enough to keep me loving my $60/month for petrol. However in the time it took to get picked up and be dropped off, the downpour of heavenly damns swang high... and in the three blocks that I jogged from 11th to the UO Station, I think I passed Noah on his way to the hardware store. I didn't even care what bus I was boarding heading southbound... but route 73 was dry, and all that mattered.
Unfortunately, it only got me to Sundance Foods, still a shaggy 10 blocks or more to home. Uphill. Both ways, maybe? Yeah, so I figured I'd go for it. And I paid for it... with heart.
It was funny. I learned this: Why be frustrated with variables you have NO CONTROL OVER. I was dumb... 10 blocks in monsoon madness... my choice... my walk home. But half-way the water crawling down my skull down my shirt reminded me: "I'm made for this exposure. I will make it. I WILL be cold, but the Designer of Life has fashioned my determination for these moments. Leave your anger alone. Let your doubt aside, and let your self come under the elements of Life." It reminded me of the last fight scene in the Matrix trilogy... learning to let go. Fight mighty, but know when its finished. Know when to die.
It was strangely spiritual to walk soaking through the rain. Pressing along... me and my silly little sport-coat. My silly little leather briefcase. My silly little ego... that needed to die again under the weight of mild human suffering. JUST mild suffering compared to some. But provoking of change, that's the virtue.
It touched me. Way down deep. And I think it stuck this time. My life was designed for pain that motivates me to change my circumstances. Ignoring that pain is one thing, leaning into that pain is another.
Keep on Friends... Pain = Change. --- Suffering produces glory.

| The wee Colin, now only 8 WEEKS OLD... already holds powerful persuasion, with simple eye contact, and a relaxed posture, to convince his parents that they have TOO MUCH GOING ON, and should really just sit down and hang out with him. Right you are lad, right you are!
The last few weeks has been quite eventful, and the last week was a bit more enjoyable as we had some time off to lay around and relax like junior, here.
Myriah's sister Kelsey came into town to visit us over the last weekend of October... having her here was another great dose of help with things that we're still adjusting to. :0) But having in-laws around is always a treat. No jokes, either.

Colin also saw it fit to make sure Kelsey knew he wasn't a push over... gaining trust takes time, Auntie!

Being the last weekend of October, we had our annual FRIGHT NIGHT with Chi Alpha... and enjoyed carving pumpkins as well as the corn maze. Daddy and Dude stayed with Tommy & Lindsey and watch a movie about a man with Scissors for Hands... his first real movie experience. Elated to the hilt!
The next day I got to go to my first Duck Rugby game with my friend John Coleman... we're in the process of learning about the ins and out of rugby, and hoping we'll get to play sometime next year. Lots to learn, laps to run! These guys were pretty amazing.

Props to my other buddy John H. from work, he played really well.
Oh, and reason #265 that rugby is awesome --- hippes welcome! :0) No kidding!

Well, the whole trust deal with Auntie Kels went well, and he broke under the weight of mid-Western charm and blonde hair. No to mention brains!

We were bummed to see Lady K head back to N-Brasky, but we're still holding her to a year-long sabbatical in Eugene! We'll see.
For finale, Colin's latest garb has included plaid influences from Pa, as well as thick knits for the colder weather, and of course the explosion of baby primaries that so well accent the huge cute eyes! What a guy.

Missing everyone we see much more frequently, as well as those we don't see as often. Looking forward to time in Montana for Thanksgiving, and hopefully some more photos before then! We'll see... back to the diaper pad, leave you with a smile! | Currently Watching The Postman By Todd Allen, Scott Bairstow, Annie Costner, Charles Esten, Shawn Hatosy, Ryan Hurst, Rex Linn, Peggy Lipton, Roberta Maxwell, Ron McLarty, Will Patton, Tom Petty, Giovanni Ribisi, James Russo, Joe Santos, Larenz Tate, Olivia Williams, Brian Anthony Wilson, Daniel von Bargen see related |
